Smriti Sharma’s current research focuses on History of Rural Community Development in India since the 1950s. Prior to joining the project on International History of Rural development she worked with development economist Ms Devaki Jain. Her Master’s thesis titled “Identifying the deserving poor” was a critique of the existing practices of identification and classification of the poor by the non-poor.
